Woohoo future tigers!  Let me just start off by saying that a year ago, I would have been shocked if you told me that I would end up at Clemson; solely for the reason that it is about a ten hour drive from my house, and I could barely even go to sleepovers as a child because I would miss my mom.  But boy am I glad I’m a big girl now.  Now don’t get me wrong, I miss my mom a lot and call her everyday, but I’m learning to handle myself.  To be honest, I don’t think this would be the case had I not gone to Clemson.  I am so blessed to be in such a nurturing environment where I am able to have several temporary moms, dads, and siblings while mine are so far away.
First off, Clemson is beautiful. Â But this goes without saying. Â My walk to class is my most enjoyable part of the day because in my opinion, the weather is perfect, the landscaping is premier, and the architecture is extraordinary.
Maybe I’m a little biased, but I believe the academics here are unparalleled.  It is so comforting to know that there are literally thousands of people here that want me, and every other member of the Clemson family, to succeed.  There is always help available when classes get tricky, which is a major stress reliever.  Although I am only a freshman, I already know for a fact that Clemson will prepare me for a lifetime of success and happiness in the workforce. Â
Another aspect that significantly swayed me towards Clemson is the athletics.  I have been a football fan forever, and there is not a single place on this Earth I would rather be on a Saturday than Death Valley.  Whether you like football or not, it is a dream.  Waking up on game day and looking out your window only to see a massive sea of orange will do it for you.  And if it does not for some odd reason, just wait until the team runs down the hill for the most exciting 25 seconds in college football.  I get chills just thinking about it.  I also love that the entire student body supports not only the football team, but all of the teams here.  People paint up for soccer games.  It’s just who we are.
Now if this love letter to my college isn’t enough, it’s probably because you have not yet visited.  After one step on campus for me, it was a no-brainer.  I feel so lucky to have found my home here, and I hope that it will be yours too!
