From books to makeup to television shows, here is a list of things that I’ve tried and tested so that you don’t have to!
1. Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
Written by a 21-year-old girl who has struggled through life, this book of poetry is the most powerful thing I’ve read in longer than I can remember. It’s also so gorgeously written, it’s like reading dark chocolate.
2. Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick
This has quickly become my go-to lipstick for a night out. It stays on through eating and drinking and the colors are absolutely gorgeous. My personal favorite shade is “Top Tomato”, a bold, classic red, but there a plenty of more neutral shades for those of you that aren’t into bold lips.
3. Fujifilm Instax Camera
I bought this bad boy awhile back, and am still in love with it. There’s something really unique about instant photos that can’t be replicated on a digital camera or iPhone. The only downside is it costs about $1 per picture, so make sure you take them wisely!
4. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
A random discovery on Netflix, I quickly have learned why so many people love this show. It’s actually a musical: each episode is interspersed with quirky, witty songs, and the cast is loaded with Broadway stars. It’s absolutely hilarious, and makes you feel good too.
5. Rimmel ScandalEyes eyeliner in black
A freebie in one of our awesome Her Campus goodie bags, this has quickly become my favorite eyeliner. It goes on so smoothly and looks dark and bold after just one stroke. My only gripe is that it says it’s waterproof, but showering with it on leaves me with raccoon eyes. But if you don’t need your eyeliner to be waterproof (which, let’s be honest, I really only wear eyeliner to go out with friends), this is the perfect one.
6. Reese’s Eggs
With Easter coming up, the Reese’s Eggs are back in stock. And while I love Reese’s all year round, I personally believe that the eggs have the best chocolate to peanut butter ratio of them all. Therefore, I buy a giant bag of them whenever I go to the grocery store. Gotta stock up, you know?
7. Joanne – Lady Gaga
I am FEELING this album. I know I’m a bit late to the game, but I love it. It’s a little less “Gaga” then some of her past stuff, but it’s really amazing stuff. Lady Gaga is such a talented artist, and I love that she’s moving more towards focusing on the vocals of her music rather than the pizzazz.
So there you have it. If you were looking for some new recommendations, here they are! Have a wonderful day, collegiettes!
