Thank You Mom & Dad

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.

Dear Mom and Dad,

Thank you does not even begin to explain my appreciation for all that you’ve done and all that you continue to do for me. This includes sending me to the greatest university on the planet, Clemson. I cannot express how thankful I am that you have given me the opportunity to attend a university as amazing as this one. It was by far the best decision I ever made, and it has and will continue to open many doors for me. I most certainly could not be here without you.

Thank you for being my constant support system. You never fail to answer my early morning or middle of the night calls. Whether it’s because I’m stressed about an upcoming test, drama about a group project, needing money, not knowing how to write a check or what kind of grapes we buy at home, you never fail to be there for me. You have helped me grow to the woman I am today and even when I think I know all the answers, I still need you.

Thank you for paying my way through school. I’m not sure how I would have done it. I don’t know how I would have succeeded the way that I did if I had to work all year. Graduating essentially debt free is a luxury I know many students do not have. It’s one that I am grateful to have. It’s one less worry that I had during my 18 credit hour semesters, organic chemistry tests and biochemistry finals. This is something that I will be forever grateful for and know how hard you work to be able to provide this for me.

Thank you for loving me unconditionally even though I don’t always deserve it. Loving me through all of my rants, my irrational arguments, etc. Loving me even though I don’t always take the advice that you provide me with. I often regret it later and know you were right.

Thank you for still proof reading my papers and helping me with math problems. I mean, yeah I’m in college and probably should be able to do that on my own but a little help never hurt anyone. Some things will never change.

So, mom and dad, thank you for absolutely everything. Without you two, I don’t know where I would be in life or what kind of woman I would be. Without both of you, I would be lost. Thank you for working so hard to give me the best experiences I could ever ask for. I promise all that you have sacrificed and given up for me, will be worth it. I will work just as hard as you have and I will make you proud.

Love,
Your Graduating Senior
