With registration just two weeks away, it’s easy to get stressed about what classes you’re going to sign up for after overwhelming meetings with advisors. However, there’s no need to be worried about a stressful registration process or hard academic classes. Clemson offers countless leisure skills classes in all areas of instruction, such as outdoor sports like kayaking, workout classes like Pilates, or even shooting classes.
To give you the inside scoop on signing up for leisure skills for the spring, here’s a look at the Top 5 leisure skills classes offered here at Clemson.
1. Yoga
You’ve most likely seen students all over campus walking with rolled up orange and purple mats. There are a few yoga class options, ranging from Basic Yoga to improve flexibility to Power Yoga, which gives you a great workout. Yoga is a perfect way to relax yourself after a long day of classes, or even in the morning before you start your day.

2. Swing Dancing and Shag
Shag is the state dance of South Carolina, so it’s a great thing for all of us Clemson Students to know. Whether you’ve been doing it for years or think you have two left feet, there’s a dance class for you. When you take these classes you’ll be doing turns and flips in no time.

3. Rifelry and Hunting
Not only do these classes teach you everything from how to shoot a gun properly to the traditions of hunting, but include hunting field trips also! Take a Saturday to go on a rabbit, turkey, or boar hunt! Maybe you’ll even come home with dinner.

4. SCUBA Diving
Who doesn’t want to learn to SCUBA dive? While you practice in the pool at Fike, you’re learning all there is to know about this underwater diving sport. Most importantly, you can finish the class with your SCUBA certification, which you can use in the future for any great tropical trips you go on.

5. Sports
There are numerous sports classes that you can take next semester. Whether you’re looking for an intense game of soccer or field hockey during the week, or want to learn some new skills like bowling or billiards, Clemson has eight sport leisure skills for you to choose from. They’re a great way to force yourself to get in a workout when you’re busy during the week, and a lot of fun too!

Make sure you add one of these great, fun classes to your schedule. They’ll teach you things you won’t learn sitting in a classroom, while still picking up new and interesting skills.
