I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that Tuesday’s gorgeous weather got me super pumped for summertime and all the fun trends that come with it. Put those heavy sweaters and wool scarves away – it’s time to break out the summer clothes! Here are some fun trends for you to try this season.

Floral

Spring and summer are seasons that are full of life and nothing expresses that quite as well as flowers do. Floral patterns are super easy to wear and always add a pretty, girly touch to any outfit. Pair a floral skirt like this one from H&M with an oversized sweatshirt to go to a bonfire with your pals. Liven up a t-shirt and capris with a floral scarf. On top, on bottom, in the middle, this trend is pretty everywhere.

Studs

Add a tough-girl flair to any outfit you wear with studs. Wear studded sandals like these ones from Aeropostale to put an edgy twist on a girly outfit. Wear a jacket with studded shoulders over a floral dress, or wear spiky jewelry. If you’re feeling like you don’t want to be messed with and you still want to put your best fashion foot forward, give this trend a try!

Lace

This classic look is clean and pretty and so versatile! Dress it down with denim shorts, or dress it up with gold jewelry. Also, you can find just about anything with lace. Wear a lace crop top like this one from Forever 21 for a fun day at carnival. Pull on lace shorts and add a graphic tee when you go to class. Or pair a lace dress with a leather jacket for an edgy vibe when you go out on the town with your friends.

Quirky Graphic

A quirky graphic tee is a great way to express yourself and look cute doing it. Every store has tons of options in this category, and you can find a tee with almost any image you want. And if you can’t find one, make your own with a plain shirt, a stencil, and some spray paint! Otherwise, throw on a cute graphic tee like this one from Forever 21 with high-waisted shorts or leggings, and some sneakers, and strut your quirky stuff.

Heart-Shaped Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a great way to explore trends because they’re cheap and you can wear them all the time! My go-to sunglass shop is Charlotte Russe. The store often has 2 for $10 deals on jewelry and sunglasses, so experiment guilt-free with another fun trend like cat-eyed sunnies or round shades. The heart-shaped trend is particularly fun and brings out your more youthful side while protecting your eyes from UV rays.

Tribal

These bold prints catch the eye and make you stand out in a crowd. Look for simpler patterns like the one on this dress from American Eagle for a more sophisticated look that transitions easily from day to night. If you’re feeling especially bold, go all out and look for an especially busy pattern. There are tons of patterns to choose from in everything from dresses to blouses to shoes to jewelry. Have fun with the trend and go as loud or as subdued as you would like.
