Food is something that nearly everyone can agree that they love. Senior Phoebe Ng however, takes a different perspective on this common interest. Phoebe not only is an excellent cook, but also is furthering her love for food in various ways.
Phoebe reigns from Thousand Oaks, California, and is a senior with a major in Professional Writing. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to interview Phoebe, and ask her a few questions. We began our conversation discussing favorites. When asked about her favorites I learned that Phoebe’s answers all had a common topic.
Favorite Cuisine: French fusion
Favorite TV Shows: Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, Top Chef
Ideal Date Dinner: A trip to Costco for samples, hot dog and berry smoothie
Favorite Cookbook: Thug Kitchen and The Art of Eating Well by Hemsley & Hemsley,
Last movie I watched was…: Chef. Beautiful cinematography, don’t watch when you are hungry.
Fun Fact: I hate being in pictures, but I love taking pictures (especially of food!)
Qualities you look for in a guy: Proficiency in the kitchen, genuineness, quick on his feet/witty sense of humor
Phoebe currently runs an instagram account where she uploads pictures of food she’s made or eaten when out and about. In conjunction with the success with the instagram, she has recently launched her own food blog. < tldrpgh.wordpress.com > Warning: if you’re hungry, I suggest eating prior to reading Phoebe’s blog, or grabbing some napkins to clean off the drool that is soon to drip from your mouth while you read her blog. Phoebe gives reviews on several Pittsburgh restaurants as well as photographs the food she’s had. When asked “What made you so interested in food?”, Phoebe responds “there’s so many answers, but I think it’s because it is always exciting in the sense that there’s always something new to try each time, and also because it is something that is enhanced by sharing.” Despite her instagram and blog success, Phoebe also hopes to encourage people to stop saying that pittsburgh sucks when they haven’t even explored the city. Phoebe believes the city is genuinely charming if you give it a chance. In ten years phoebe ideally sees herself as the CEO of her own lifestyle/fine dining PR practice in LA or SF and best friend to an amazing chef with sleeve tattoos. I suggest everyone takes a look at Phoebe’s mouth watering blog and experience the food opportunities our city of Pittsburgh has to offer.
