For the last two days, I haven’t heard from Simran Jobanputra. Not because she’s a bad friend (she’s actually an amazing listener), but simply because she’s one of the most active freshman on campus that I know of. Constantly full of energy and funny, Simran is someone who is extremely driven by her passion. Whether it be for her major in Business Administration or her love for dance, she’ll do it all.
Due to her interest in business and consulting, she is part of the Undergraduate Marketing Organization’s Consulting group and the Case Competition group. Just a couple of weeks ago, she was working with her group, Team Diversity, in consulting for a case regarding Hershey’s Cool Blast Chews.
As I had mentioned, Simran loves dance. She loves it so much, that it has inspired her to help create CMU Sahara, a co-ed Bollywood contemporary dance team. Most of the time at night, you can see her in the studio helping choreograph some of the dances.
She also loves learning languages and over the course of the past couple of years, she has become pretty proficient in Spanish. She is now helping tutor young Latino children Spanish so that they can better interact with their parents.
In her spare time, you can catch her blogging, folding laundry with some rap music, and picking out some outfits.
The only times you’ll see her resting is when she’s taking her ten minute naps, but until then, listen out for her laugh as she runs from one activity to another.
