Name: Danni Bauer
Year: Freshman
Major: Computer Engineering
Involvement: Just Her Campus (kinda boring right?)
Why did you choose CNU? “I chose CNU because I liked the variety of things that I could do, and also the feeling I get by walking around campus is exhilarating. I just knew that this was a place that I could finally call home. Take a nice deep breath outside and take it all in. Ahhhhh…”
How has your transition been so far? “Tbh, it’s been a little lonely. I’m introverted and have a hard time building a social life.”
What are you most excited to do at CNU? “Hmmm…probably just continue to meet awesome people.”
Why were you interested in Her Campus? “I had taken a Creative Writing class in high school, as well as Photography and Digital Imaging classes. Even though I enjoy working with computers, I have a passion for creative things (Heck, I draw at work!). Since the course load for my major is hella packed, I thought that Her Campus would be great way for me to bring out my creative self without making my track to graduation longer than it should be.”
What’s something not many people know about you? “I LOVE learning languages, and I’m obsessed with the color purple.”
Do you have siblings? What’s your funniest story with them? “I have a total of seven siblings, which include a biological sister, two half brothers, a stepbrother, a stepsister, and two Japanese foreign exchange students. We all like to goof around with each other, but one of my most recent funny memories was with one of the foreign exchange students and my sister. I was driving to Patrick Henry Mall from our house in Chesapeake, and my sisters bundled up with blankets and snacks like it was a road trip! They made being stuck in traffic about a million times more goofy and fun.”
If you had to pick a favorite quote, what is it and why? “‘Love is the most important thing in life.’ And it’s true. When it comes down to it, and you are being buried in your grave, you will be remembered by the love that you have given to people. So focus on that, and not money, while you still have time.”
Who was your role model growing up? “My mom has always worked really hard for what she wants, and I aspire to do that every day.”
Do you have any tattoos? “I have one tiny black anchor on my right ankle. I got it to remind myself that I will always have people that I can come home to and trust. I kinda lost sight of that my senior year of high school.”
What’s your Hogwarts House? How do you see those traits play out in your everyday actions? “I think I am somewhere between a Ravenclaw and a Hufflepuff. I am totally smart but since I come off as crazy and stupid to most people, I can be perceived as someone I am not. If that makes any sense.”
