On October 1st, Nu Kappa Epsilon (NKE) kicked off the beginning of the month with their annual “Playing for a Change Concert!” NKE’s international philanthropy is the Playing for a Change Foundation, where they host global events for social change through music.
Who could say no to music? It’s almost as hard as saying no to puppies.
The Beta Chapter of NKE at Christopher Newport University had another successful concert with AMAZING performers! There were both music majors and non-music majors that all have the same passion: music! They also had students show of their instrumental skills. Goals.
Four a-cappella groups on campus: Extreme Measures, Take Note, Trebled Youth, and USounds. They took our breath away!
Carter Evans, from the all-male music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha, says that “music is a universal language, and [the event’s] a great way to spread joy, happiness, and love all around the world.”
The Music Director for NKE, Journey Haven, told us that her favorite thing about being in NKE is “having a bunch of sisters that share the same love for music but in different ways”.
Thank you, NKE, for an awesome concert! Be sure to follow them on Instagram and like them on Facebook so you don’t miss their next event!
