- Chocolate covered… Everything!
Everything is better dipped in chocolate. Some of my favorites to do are strawberries, marshmallows, pretzels, and Rice Krispies.
- Ice cream bar
Ice cream bars are super fun because it is an opportunity to get creative with your food and learn more about your partner’s likes and dislikes. The typical toppings I would put out would be little candies like M&M’s and Reese’s Pieces and cookie crumbs like crushed-up Oreos. If your partner likes more sour candies, you can do Skittles or gummy worms. I like that this idea can also challenge the flavor combinations that you are comfortable with as well.
- cupcakes
Cupcakes are a more hands-on snack idea but are so worth it. This is a chance for you and your partner to work together. Some suggestions for flavors are chocolate, vanilla, or one of my favorites, red velvet. You can even get adventurous and try a sweet cupcake filling like caramel.
- cookies
This is another opportunity to work together with your partner. Just like the ice cream bar, I think that this is a good way to challenge your own flavor palette. Other than the basic chocolate chip you could make peanut butter, peppermint, or sugar cookies. You could also make any of these flavors in a big skillet. I like to call this the big cookie. A tradition I used to do was to not even cut the cookie. Instead everyone gets a spoon and eats right out of the pan!
- Trail Mix
Trail mix is probably the quickest of all these suggestions. There are so many different types of trail mix which makes this a very easy option and super cheap to make. Personally, I like more of a salty than sweet mix to have a balance of flavor. A combination of popcorn, M&Ms, or caramels, pretzels, and a sweet cereal like cinnamon toast crunch is what I like.
I hope that after reading this, there are some snacks that sound good and make time with your partner sweet!
