3 Staple Pieces for your Winter Wardrobe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Colby chapter.

Maine is very, very cold in the winter time. But that doesn’t mean we have to resort to sweatshirts and sweatpants 24/7. Here are three staple, easy to style, warm pieces to keep in your winter wardrobe at all times.

     1. Turtlenecks. These cozy tops have made the ultimate comeback, and just in time for Jan Plan! Such a classic piece, a black turtleneck goes with everything. You will get a ton of use out of,  not to mention they keep you nice and warm!

     2.  Blanket scarves. Scarves are a cold weather essential, but a popular new style is the BLANKET scarf. Who wouldn’t want to wear a blanket to class?? These will be sure to keep you warm and looking cute.

     3.  Leggings. Leggings are a staple in almost every college girl’s wardrobe. They’re better known for their comfort than for their warmth. That’s because so many leggings are very thin. But, thicker styles will keep you warm AND comfy. (Check out American Apparel’s winter leggings or L.L. Bean’s fleece lined leggings).

Good luck staying warm for those on campus during Jan Plan!).
