Mary Low is one of the best spaces on campus. Let me tell you why:
The Space
The Mary Low Coffee House is a student-run café on Colby’s campus, located on the first floor of the Mary Low/Coburn dorm. With cozy couches, lots of tables and ample sunlight, the coffee house is hands down one of my favorite places on campus. It’s such a comfy spot to hang out with friends, or get a few readings done! The space is also used for Colby events such as the Saturday Night Live, Open Mics, and club meetings.
The coffeehouse begann in the 60s at Colby, and was remodeled and reopened in 2016 with brand new floors, furniture, and now outside seating which was completed this past summer. It also connects into the common room for extra seating.
The People
What’s great about Mary Low is that it’s all student-run. The baristas, the managers, event-planners, are all Colby students. You always run into someone you know! It also makes the coffeehouse more of a comfortable and welcoming place since the staff are Colby students and understand what college kids want.

The Drinks
Also let’s not forget about the awesome drinks at Mary Low!
My all-time favorite is the matcha latte, made with organic matcha powder. I add a tiny bit of lavender syrup too and it’s absolutely delicious!
Mary Low also offers seasonal specials–this month, it’s the fall drink favorites: Caramel Apple Cider, Maple Latte, and the Pumpkin Spice Latte!
Not a coffee lover? We got you–we have a wide selection of loose leaf teas, chai latte, and even kombucha on tap. That’s right–we have a keg with kombucha (flavors change regularly), cold brew and nitro cold brew.
Mary Low is awesome in that there are tons of milk options for those that want a little variety: whole, skim, soy, almond, and oat!

If you haven’t been to Mary Low yet, it’s definitely a space on campus worth checking out!
P.S. If you bring your own mug, you’ll get 50 cents off your drink :)
