I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to write about these two favorites of mine. I mean, I love food and I love birthdays, so why not dedicate an entire article about the foods you can get on your birthday, and might I add, for free. Normally, I would spend my birthday eating cake with my friends and family, but since I have been away at college during my birthday, I have had to become a bit more resourceful in trying to get my cake fix.
At first it felt like Waterville didn’t have much to offer in the realm of birthday activities, but as time went on it became clear that I just wasn’t looking in the right places. There are some great restaurants located here in Waterville and just twenty minutes south of us in Augusta that offer amazing deals on free food if it happens to be your birthday. To make things even better, some of them offer deals for the entirety of your birthday month. Here are just a few you should keep on your radar when the special time comes:

Applebee’s – free dessert is the way to your heart when you sign up for the EClub.
Arby’s – when you sign up for Arby’s Deals get a free roast beef classic sandwich, but you have to purchase a drink.
Buffalo Wild Wings – sign up for the Buffalo Circle and get a free snack-size wings (boneless or traditional) to celebrate your birthday.
Dairy Queen – after you’ve signed up for their Blizzard Fan club this one is a BOGO for blizzards. It’ll be a sweet treat for you and someone else on your special day, or maybe just 2x the blizzard for yourself because why not??
Denny’s – just bring your ID as proof its your birthday and then BOOM! (or should I say Slam!) you can get a free grand slam with no sign up necessary.

Dunkin Donuts – if you sign up for the Dunkin’ Donuts reward program, you can get a free drink of any size during your birthday month, but in my perfect world it would be a free donut (not quite like the yummy doggy donut above).
Firehouse Subs – join Firehouse Rewards to get a free medium sub on your big, big day.
IHOP – when you sign up for the IHOP rewards program you can get a free stack of pancakes on your birthday (and anniversary).
Longhorn Steakhouse – not only will you get a free appetizer when you sign up for a Longhorn Account, but you’ll also get a free dessert of your choice on your birthday.
McDonald’s – yes, believe it or not, mcdonalds will give you a free happy meal on your birthday when you sign up for the McDonald’s email newsletter. The only catch is that you have to be a kid in order to receive it!
Olive Garden – you get a free appetizer or dessert just for signing up!

Portland Pie – by joining Portland Pie Co. Loyalty & Rewards they will help you celebrate with a free pizza on the house.
Red Robin – if you sign up for Red Robin’s Royalty program, you can get a free burger for your big day, and it goes great with the bottomless fries.
Ruby Tuesday – another free burger deal (or free garden entree) when you sign up for their Just So Connected royalty program.
Selah Tea – sadly our favorite tea spot doesn’t have any birthday perks :(

Starbucks – if you are a Starbucks Rewards member, you can get a free beverage or food item of your choice for your birthday.
Sweetfrog– you can get a free froyo and sweetBenefits once you’ve signed up for their customer loyalty program.
Subway – when you sign up for Subway’s Eat Fresh Club, you can get a free six inch and drink on your birthday.
Wendy’s – this may be the wackiest one of all, but you can get $1 off your combo order if you sign up for WendyMail.
Now you can go out on your special day and actually get treated like a Queen or King all within the food-filled radius that is home to the greater Waterville area.
