Feeling a little overwhelmed this week? Whether it be a minor setback in a class, the cute baseball boy who completely blew you off on Saturday, or just some underlying feeling that this week, you’re not measuring up, here are some great tips for making yourself feel better.
First, some motivation:
- “Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it’s at the end of your arm” ~ Audrey Hepburn
- “Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim” ~ Nora Ephron
- “I am obsessed with becoming a woman comfortable in her own skin” ~ Sandra Cisneros
- “A busy, vibrant, goal-oriented woman is so much more attractive than a woman who waits around for a man to validate her existence” ~ Mandy Hale
- “You attract the right things when you have a sense of who you are” ~ Amy Poehler
- “She took the leap and built her wings on the way down” ~ Kobi Yaguda
- “You are a woman with a brain and reasonable ability. Stop whining and find something to do” ~ Downton Abbey
And a little bit of advice from F. Scott Fitzgerald, in a letter to his 11-year old daughter:
Then, check all of these things…
- Treat yourself! Take a long shower. Paint your nails. Shave your legs really really well.
- Eat a good meal. And dessert.
- Get a good night of sleep. At least 8 hours. Maybe more.
- Spend some time with your girl friends. Because, after all, a good night’s sleep and a laugh are the best cure for anything.
- Go for a run. Or bike ride. Get those endorphins moving! You’ll feel one hundred times better. Â
- Do something for you. Love to read? Grab a book. Like to draw? Pick up your pencils. Sometimes, a little bit of distraction is exactly what you need.
And, last but not least, here are some awesome songs that are sure to put you in a good mood:
~”Love Myself”: Hailee Steinfeld
~”Brave”: Sara Bareilles
~”Comeback Kid”: Brett Dennen
~And sometimes, on a really tough day, anything by Taylor Swift….
