I’ve always struggled when it comes to creating playlists – I like too many songs, or I don’t like enough, or they don’t make sense together. Most people feel proud to share their music taste, but I often feel like mine is not cohesive enough to make sense of. So, instead of creating my own, I turn to my friends’ music selections, which always feel safer. In an attempt to break this habit of mine and stand by what I like, I have accumulated twenty songs, listed below, that I have been listening to on repeat over the past couple of months. Something about these songs feels like fall to me; I like to let my thoughts stew as the weather turns, and the peaceful melancholy of this playlist pairs nicely with that. I know many of these songs are not new. Oftentimes I will associate a specific memory with a song or an artist – my two best friends from my time abroad raved about Gracie Abrams, and now I can’t get enough, which is why she appears on this list thrice. Sharing my recent favorite songs with you is my small way of pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, and I hope you enjoy!
