It may feel as though there is nothing to do in this tiny village of Hamilton, New York, but in reality there is loads of potential fun to be had at Colgate.  And with that, I present you my Colgate Bucket List.

1. Spend 24 hours straight in Frank Dining Hall

I have thrown this idea out more than once to my friends and have not gotten the best responses… but Frank is open 24 hours for a reason, right?  Breakfast, lunch, midday snack, dinner, mid-sleep snack, then do it all again. The booths in Frank were MADE FOR sleeping on. This seems completely doable and if successful, I do not see any problem with moving out of my dorm room and moving into Frank for the rest of the semester.

2. Ice Skate on Taylor Lake

Take advantage of the subzero temperatures and have some fun!  It doesn’t matter if you can’t skate at all, it’s the experience that counts.  You could have a hockey game, or try to do some twirls, or have a speed skating competition.  No matter what, you will get to brag to people “I skated on Taylor Lake”.

3. Sled down the ski hill

If you’re a runner you might have run up this treacherous hill before or if you have ever been by the sports field you have seen it off in the distance.  While this hill is not fun to go up, I can imagine it being very fun to sled down. With the steepness of this hill, you will pick up a lot of speed so I recommend either wearing padding or having someone strong at the bottom to catch you…

4. Finish a pie (Slices pizza or Tollhouse cookie pie from the Inn) all by yourself

TREAT YOURSELF!!!  You’ve probably wanted to do this before, but now that it’s officially written on the bucket list it’s set in stone.

5. Make a true friend on the cruiser

Some of the best conversations are had on those late night cruiser rides… why not extend this relationship further than the Bookstore stop?

These are just of the few necessary things to do before graduating Colgate.  With a little bit of creativity you can have an adventure and think of many more as well!
