Say hello to this week’s campus cutie, Nick Dichiara (a.k.a Dich)! As a senior on the football team, he was able to end his Colgate football career by helping his team become champions of the Patriot League.
Name: Nick DiChiara
Hometown: Saugus, MA
Major: Economics
Class year: 2016
Campus Activities: Football, DU [Delta Upsilon Fraternity], Uplifting Athletes, Adopt-a-classroom, future washed up athlete turned intramural athlete
Favorite place to eat downtown: Clubhouse
Favorite thing DU’s chefs cooks: “Mexican Night is the house favorite. Shout out Mark.”
Favorite new Justin Bieber song: “Sorry. It has really turned me into a Belieber.”
Best thing about Colgate: “All the beautiful women.”
Why did you decide to cut off your luscious locks? “Wow. Sore subject. My friend, Cam Kline, and I won a commercial real estate case competition at Colgate and DDR, the company that sponsored the competition, had us present to their executives in Cleveland and I felt pressured to conform to society. That type of luscious flow isn’t exactly valued in corporate America.”
Is it true you had a viral YouTube video about long snapping? “I usually consider it semi-viral. In my opinion, you need a million views to be considered viral but six figure views isn’t too shabby.”
Do you have any pregame traditions? “Not really. I guess just warm up by snapping. You don’t really need to get too psyched to throw a football between your legs.”
Favorite pump-up song? “Currently, I’d probably go with Big Rings by Drake. That always makes its way onto our locker room pregame playlist.”
What was the most nerve-racking thing about Saturday’s big game? “When Lehigh had the ball on first down on our five yard line with a minute left in the game and we were only up one touchdown.”
What is the Colgate Football team’s best tradition? “Winning.”
What is your best off the field memory with the team? “Probably the championship party Saturday night. That was epic.”
What is one thing on your bucket list that you would like to accomplish before graduating? “Attend a yoga and spin class.”
