Thanksgiving is a time when you get to see your family and friends and reflect on what you’re thankful for. But it’s also a time to eat a delicious meal that I know I look forward to every year. For some reason it just feels wrong to eat a whole Thanksgiving spread on any other day, making Thanksgiving highly anticipated for those of us who just love to eat. This is my ranking of Thanksgiving foods.

Turkey: 8/10

Turkey is a staple at almost every Thanksgiving table. While I do think of it as quintessential Thanksgiving, for me, it’s not really the star of the show.

Mashed potatoes and gravy: 9/10

How can you go wrong with mashed potatoes? They’re delicious no matter what you eat them with, and I know I always help myself to a generous portion every Thanksgiving.

Stuffing: 10/10

I really love stuffing. It might be the fact that the only day of the year I eat it is Thanksgiving, but to me, it’s not a Thanksgiving dinner without stuffing. It’s made out of bread (which I love) and just combines perfectly with everything else on my plate.

Pumpkin pie: 10/10

As someone with a huge sweet tooth, pumpkin pie is always the star of my Thanksgiving dinner. I make pumpkin pie every year for Thanksgiving, and I just love the consistency of the pumpkin filling and the flavor of pumpkin in general. I also love that it’s not as sweet compared to some other pies, which means I can help myself to as many slices as I want without feeling too gross.

Sweet potato casserole: 9/10

Again, I have a huge sweet tooth so obviously this ranks high for me. I love the toasted marshmallows on top and the fact that eating this makes it somewhat acceptable to eat dessert with your main dinner.

Green bean casserole: 5/10

I’ve never really been into green bean casserole. I’m not a green bean fan in general, and the only part of this dish I really like is the crispy fried onions.

Pecan pie: 5/10

This may be controversial but I’m not a pecan pie fan. I don’t love pecans or most nuts, and I always prefer to have pumpkin pie as my Thanksgiving dessert.

Cranberry sauce: 10/10

I loooove cranberry sauce. Seeing as I have such a big sweet tooth, I eat cranberry sauce with basically everything else at Thanksgiving. I eat it with turkey, mashed potatoes, and sometimes even stuffing. Call me crazy but I think it goes great with anything.

All in all, you can never really go wrong with any classic Thanksgiving food. I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with good eats and good company!
