I know I cannot speak for everyone, but I am so happy that Tik Tok was not banned. I am not afraid to admit that I spend far too much time mindlessly scrolling through the app. Social media platforms often receive a lot of criticism, and rightfully so, but they can offer great tips and tricks. Tik Tok is one of those platforms that is especially helpful due to the variety it offers. You can learn just about anything from financial advice to interview tips, and my favorite: cooking videos. I LOVE when my “For You” page is filled with videos of people sharing food hacks, how to cook for beginners, and different meals that fit with every kind of lifestyle. I decided to try some of these recipes out so you don’t have to, so check these out!

Recipe 1: Autumn Chickpea Salad @lahbco

This one was by far my favorite! I like the Tik Tok recipes that are wholesome and nutritious, and this one did not disappoint. It has all the fall flavors that we all love with a hint of sweetness and crunch. I like to put this on a piece of toast with apple butter spread on the bottom! Dice everything up and throw it in a bowl!

Salad Ingredients:

–  1 can of chickpeas (drained, rinsed, and mashed)

–  1 apple (diced)

–  1⁄3 cup walnuts (diced)

–  1⁄3 cup dried fruit (diced)

–  1 large carrot (grated)

–  1⁄4 red onion (diced)

Dressing Ingredients:

–  3 tbsp nut butter

–  2 tsp maple syrup

–  1 tsp dijon mustard

–  1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

–  1⁄4 tsp garlic powder

–  1⁄4 tsp cumin

–  1⁄2 tsp cinnamon

–  salt and pepper to taste

–  water to thin

Recipe 2: Chocolate Peanut Butter Pots @healthylivingj

This one was SO good and is the perfect serving size. If you are looking for a nutritious, gluten-free, AND vegan dessert, this treat is for you!

Ingredients:

–  6 tbsp oat flour

–  6 tbsp cacao powder

–  3 tbsp maple syrup

–  1 tsp baking powder

–  pinch of salt

–  1⁄3 cup plant based milk

Whisk all of the ingredients together in a bowl. Add a tablespoon of peanut butter (or any other nut butter) to the bottom of a ramekin, and pour the chocolate mixture over top. Bake in a 400°F oven for 10-12 minutes and enjoy!
