On Tuesday night, join Her Campus Barnard and Columbia University’s Amnesty International for a wonderful screening of the new award-winning documentary Girl Rising! “Girl Rising” was shown at the famous Sundance Film festival and we have been given the exciting opportunity to host the screening in a more engaged atmosphere. The film is a moving and beautiful account that pairs Hollywood actress-narrators such as Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Selena Gomez with dynamic young female voices struggling to achieve their greatest potential as they face major educational inequalities. A discussion of the film’s themes and emotional impact will follow.
