If end-of-semester stress is getting to you and you want to head into finals season feeling strong, you’ll definitely want to check out the events Gamma Phi Beta is putting on as part of their Strength Week, which takes place April 29 through May 3!
Check out Gamma Phi’s fun roster of events, which include:
- “Mental Health First Aid” Talk with Furman Counseling Center (4/29 in Barnard Hall 405 from 5:30pm-6:30pm) — $3
- Hip Hop Class with Kayla Glasser (4/30 in Streng Dance Studio from 7:00pm-8:00pm) — $3
- Mindfulness Meditation Session with PMA Meditation Club (5/1 in Diana LL104 from 7:00pm-8:00pm) — $3
- “Strong Women in History” Trivia Night (5/2 in Diana LL104 from 6:00pm-8:00pm) — $3 per person, $10 per team
- Moonball Volleyball Tournament (5/3 in Riverside Park from 2:00pm-6:00pm) FREE
If you can’t make it to the events, however, don’t worry: Gamma Phis will be tabling in Diana every day of Strength Week to sell raffle tickets, friendship grams, and stress-busting study kits. And when you put a bit of money toward Gamma Phi, you’re helping their mission to “Build Strong Girls”:
“Our sisterhood believes that women are strongest when they are able to support one another, celebrate each other’s values and abilities, and develop their friendships,” the Facebook event description says. “All proceeds will go to supporting our philanthropic partner, Girls On The Run, an organization that empowers young girls and develops their confidence through the skill of running.”
So, what are you waiting for? Bust your stress, feel strong, and do a bit of good for the next generation of girls next week!
