Concordia’s Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority is Holding Fall Recruitment!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Concordia CA chapter.

The beginning of the school year can be dreadful for some. Even the most enthusiastic of students can find that coming back to school leaves them with a long to-do list: back to class, back to assignments, tests, essays and exams. However, back to school can also hold a whole bunch of excitement. There are plenty of ways on to get involved on campus and enjoy yourself outside of class time. Joining a sorority, for example, is one of them.

Because Greek life really isn’t that big in Canada, I never knew joining a sorority was possible. I’m sure a lot of people are even unaware that Concordia has both sororities and fraternities. Last semester, I joined recruitment for Concordia’s Delta Phi Epsilon sorority, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

Joining a sorority is a real commitment. It is lifelong, and a lot of time is dedicated towards it. Despite this, the payoff is so, so rewarding. The philanthropies that Delta Phi Epsilon supports are the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD). Raising money for good causes and doing so with a group of people who are as passionate as you are is, in my opinion, one of the greatest feelings.

We are all in university because we want to get degrees and achieve our greatest dreams, and while that is a priority, there’s no rule that says you can’t enjoy yourself, too. Joining a sorority broadened my horizons. I now know people from a multitude of backgrounds, majors and even countries, who have all already influenced me in so many ways. Through mixers with other Greek organizations, you have the chance to meet even more people who may present you with new opportunities and friendships.

Delta Phi Epsilon is recruiting this semester.  The recruitment events continue into this week and will take place on Monday, September 17, Wednesday, September 19 and Sunday, September 23. Through these events, you will get to see what it would be like to potentially be part of our sisterhood.

Delta Phi Epsilon is an amazing organization for any Concordia student who is looking to both get involved and form lifelong bonds with people who are supportive, strong and caring. Follow our social media pages for more information on recruitment!
