Summer is almost here and with it comes the magical splendors that are music festivals. If you’ve never been to one of these grand events, but have always wanted to go, the lineups for this summer are impossible to refuse.  Coachella has just come and gone, and it set the mood for what is sure to be a summer full of amazing festivals across America. If you thought Floralia was fun, you have to check these out!

Sasquatch! Festival

If you’re over on the West Coast, head up to Gorge, Washington for a weekend at the Sasquatch! Festival. Outkast, The National, MIA, Kid Cudi and HAIM are just a few headliners that will take part in the weekend, but the list goes on and on. Sasquatch! starts on Friday, May 23 and runs through Sunday.

Boston Calling

Another festival in May is Boston Calling, which this year will host Jack Johnson, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Bastille, The Neighborhood and Tegan and Sara. Tamer than some of the other music festivals, Boston Calling has always called forward the great public of the Boston area for a couple of fun, relaxed days of great music. Visit a friend who lives just outside of Boston (we all have at least one) and spend the weekend exploring the city, eating great Boston food, and listening to the dulcet tones of Jack Johnson.

Electric Daisy Carnival

If you’re looking for more dance music in your life, check out the Electric Daisy Carnival in New York City. This EDM festival literally has you partying all night; the acts only perform between sunset and sunrise, but don’t worry about possibly falling asleep. With performances from Tiesto, Avicii, Armin Van Buuren, Afrojack, Calvin Haris and A-Trak, you’ll be raving all night with crowds of thousands. EDC is like a well-organized Cro dance turned up a few hundred notches.

Governors Ball

This year’s Governors Ball on Randall’s Island in New York City has an AMAZING lineup and is an amazing atmosphere. With giant crowds of music lovers, this year the people of New York will party through the weekend with Outkast, Jack White, The Strokes, Skrillex, Vampire Weekend, J. Cole, Disclosure, and so many more. Buy tickets for the weekend of June 6-8, before they sell out!

Bonnaroo

Down in Manchester, Tennessee, the Bonnaroo Festival is just about as hardcore as festivals get. From June 12th to 15th festival-goers camp out for fours days of music, drinking and Tennessee heat.  This year’s lineup includes a wide range of artists, like Kanye West, Lauryn Hill, Frank Ocean, The Avett Brothers, Jack White, Elton John, and Lionel Richie. After attending Bonnaroo, no one will doubt your music festival experience ever again.

Firefly Music Festival

The Firefly Music Festival has only been around since 2012, but so far it has not disappointed, especially not this year with its awesome lineup. With acts like Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, Artic Monkeys, Jake Bugg, Imagine Dragons and Weezer, Firefly takes place in a beautiful woodland area in Delaware, with extensive camping grounds and a really amazing setup. Take a road trip down to Delaware with your friends, camp out from June 19th to the 22nd, and enjoy the beautiful outdoor decorated areas while listening to some amazing bands. It’s an experience that can’t be matched.

Lollapalooza

The famous Chicago-based festival, Lollapalooza, take place this year from August 1st to 3rd. Lolla’s headliners this year include Eminem, Kings of Leon, Calvin Harris, Lorde, Nas, and Childish Gambino. Explore the city by day and rock out to music all night. Be sure to drink water while you’re rocking out, though. And wear plenty of sunscreen. And eat a lot of food. Rocking out is harder to do if you’re collapsing from exhaustion.

Be smart, have fun, and most of all, enjoy the music! Festivals are great for seeing musical acts you’ve never heard of before, and can be an enlightening experience, so don’t miss out this summer!
