Turkey Day is fast approaching, and there is so much to be thankful for this lovely season when pumpkin-pie-induced food babies are socially acceptable and you can actually werk (sassy handflip implied here!) the dinner table in that orange and brown dress that you never actually wear because Thanksgiving is the day!
In the spirit of the holiday, Camels all over campus of different genders and class years were asked “What are you thankful for?” Check out their responses below!
“My amazing girlfriend who is just as beautiful on the inside as she looks on the outside. I am the luckiest guy.”
“My awesome friends and family!”
“I am thankful for Beyonce, my best friends who constantly put a smile on my face, my family who are my greatest supporters and my fluffy puppy Smitty.”
“Since being at college I have become extremely thankful for my family and the love and support they send me from miles away.”
“I am thankful because tomorrow is always a new day, so we never have to define ourselves by our mistakes from the past. I really messed up, but I will always love my girl.”
“The ability to use my legs and run everyday.”
“I am thankful for Toll House Cookie Pie! Yum! [And also] for my crazy Conn family; I’m so lucky to have people around me 24/7 who have my back, no matter what!”
“That this semester is almost over so I will never have to take Chemistry ever, ever again!!!!!!!”
“My family, my dog, and the opportunity for an education.”
“I am thankful for my best friend who has believed in me since day one, has seen me cry at 3am more than anyone else, and has watched more hours of Netflix with me than I have alone. He’s amazing and wonderful and I am so lucky to have him in my life. I’m also thankful for pugs and their existences, and for 24/7 delivery services.”
“For my baby cousin who is just the sweetest, my long-distance boyfriend who means the world to me, all of the amazing new things I am learning for my major, and winter coats – Connecticut can get so cold!”
“I am thankful for the infinite amount of support I have in all spheres of my life: the amazing friends I have at school, and the equally amazing family I have to go home to!”
“The fact that the saying ‘this too shall pass’ is highly accurate, that my mother is cancer-free now, for all bookstores and just every book ever written in general, the way my pug-dog literally smiles and wags his curly tail when I give him a shoulder massage, Grande Nonfat Peppermint Hot Chocolates (yes, whip cream!!) from the East Lyme Starbucks, for jokes that aren’t funny and everyone just stands around awkwardly cringing, and those thigh-changing/life-saving Cybex Arc Trainer machines at the athletic center!!”
We hope you have a grateful Thanksgiving, Camels – there is clearly so much to be thankful for!
