Guess what—it’s a Her Campus E-Board takeover! We’re super excited for this spectacular fall season, and we’re celebrating with some of our favorite activities. Here are some suggestions for spicing up your fall fun:

This semester, I am enrolled in a ceramics class. In the interest of getting a good grade in this class, and because I enjoy it, my favorite fall activity has been spending time in the art studio on campus. I have been able to throw on the wheel and work on some sculptural pieces. While I don’t possess any real talent for art, I might venture to claim that I show signs of improvement! The studio also features a glass curtain wall, which allows the fall foliage in the courtyard outside to be visible from the classroom. I would highly recommend taking some art classes on campus!

I know this is clichĂ©, but apple and pumpkin picking will always have my heart! Though I have yet to go near Conn, I just love doing it so much and have so much fun every time I go! There is something about a crisp fall day spent among autumnal fruits that is unlike anything else—especially when it is just cold enough to finish the day with baking and hot apple cider. At Conn, I am ALWAYS down for a good arboretum walk!

My favorite fall activity, you ask? Celebrating my birthday! And, of course, everything related to Halloween. Having a birthday five days before the best holiday is a blessing, and trust me when I said my costume parties went hard when I was a kid. Specifically, my favorite activities include shopping for decorations, hanging up decorations, dressing up in costume (usually a reused dance fit), attending the Conn Halloween Dance, of course, and doing it all with a Dunkin’ pumpkin coffee in hand. I’m also a rabid leaf peeper, so let me know when you want to go for a fun fall drive featuring my lovely and serene “Fall Drive” playlist:

Lara graduated from Connecticut College in 2024 with a double major in environmental studies and economics and a minor in dance. Her interests include choreography, sustainability, the performing arts, and conservation.
Caroline Snyder is a rising junior at Connecticut College who is double majoring in English and Environmental Studies! She is the president of Conn's Her Campus chapter, co-captain of the college's Equestrian Team, aids in education work in the Office of Sexual Violence Prevention, and works in the college's archives, among other things. She loves writing, reading, her cat, dinosaurs, working out, and sustainability.
Hello! My name is Catherine (she/her) and I am a Classical Languages and Art History major at Connecticut College. I am also completing a Museum Studies Certificate Program here. I work as a curatorial and archival intern at the New London County Historical Society, and I love visiting museums and spending time around good (and bad) art.
