It’s the holiday season, and we’re celebrating by turning on our favorite movies to watch this time of year. Here are some of our wintery selections:
My all time favorite holiday movie has to be Love Actually. I love the nine different storylines that all intertwine and the theme of love they all have in common. This movie reminds me that love truly is all around, between family, friends and significant others. I make sure to rewatch this romantic comedy with my family each December, as it gets me in the mood for the holidays to come. If you haven’t seen this movie already, I truly do not know what you have been doing, you must watch it!

Since I was a kid, Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York have been my constant rewatches during the holiday season. I still laugh at the same lines, can say some of the best quotes verbatim, and will never get sick of seeing Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, and Macaulay Culkin together on my screen. Tim Curry also has one of his best comedic performances ever in the sequel and if you haven’t experienced watching the “Merry Christmas ya filthy animal” scene, please go watch both iconic Christmas movies ASAP!

Every year my family rewatches National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989), and it is one of my favorite holiday traditions. This movie is a classic and it always makes my family laugh out loud. Although some of the humor is a bit sophomoric, my family and I find it hilarious. The movie accurately portrays crazy family dynamics that often exponentiate around the holidays. I highly recommend watching this classic Christmas movie.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is not just my favorite holiday movie… it’s probably my most quoted movie year-round. You’ll often catch me singing some of the hit lyrics like, “There’s always tomorrow…” or “They can’t fire me I quit!” no matter the temperature outdoors. Every time I excitedly exclaim “She says I’m cuuuuteee!” or “Bumbles bounce!” know I am also referring to this classic movie.
