The holiday season is the happiest time of year, and we will forever be grateful that our favorite shows take the time to give their characters their own celebrations. Here are a few of our favorite holiday TV show episodes:
I’ve started my own holiday tradition for every Christmas morning when I’m working in the kitchen: baking treats for our family brunch while watching my favorite Christmas TV show episodes. I always watch the Parks and Recreation holiday episodes: “Christmas Scandal,” “Citizen Knope,” and “Ron and Diane.” Although the plot of these don’t entirely focus on Christmas, they have great bits with holiday parties and gift giving, and are so comforting to me.
I also find time to watch The Office holiday episodes, my favorites being “Christmas Party” (the one with Jim and Pam’s teapot) and “A Benihana Christmas.”

In my opinion, Friends has the best holiday episodes by far. Friends is probably my all time favorite TV show, and the holiday episodes never fail to make me laugh and get me in the holiday spirit. The best part is that there is a funny episode for every holiday. My favorite Thanksgiving Friends episode has to be Season 5 Episode 8, “The One with All the Thanksgivings,” when Monica wears a turkey on her head and accidentally tells Chandler that she loves him. Monica dancing around with the turkey on her head is an iconic and hilarious scene that always makes me laugh. One of my favorite Christmas/New Years episodes is Season 6 Episode 10 “The One with the Routine.” This episode combines Christmas and New Years because it takes place in December, but Ross, Monica and Joey are extras on the set of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Ross and Monica are big fans of this show and are disappointed that they are not getting the screen time they feel they deserve during the filming. As a result, they pull out the “routine” which is a dance routine they did in a high school talent show. I always watch this episode with my family when I am home for winter break, and we always find the routine hilarious. I highly recommend watching some of the Friends holiday episodes this holiday season if you are looking for a warm hearted show and a good laugh.
