I know you’re all busy, so just a quick tip for you today:
Hopefully you’ve all well acquainted with CTB (or, as I tell my parents when they accidentally say CBT or TBC, “just call it Collegetown Bagels!”). The menu is extensive, and the food is yummy. Their bagels are warm and buttery, and they have a great vegetarian selection. I highly recommend the pesto pizza bagel and the Brooklyn breakfast sandwich.
One problem. It’s not cheap. At all. A good solution is to recreate the sandwiches at home. After all, it’s not hard to slap some sandwich meat and cheese on a bagel and pop it in the oven so it’s nice and toasty.
“But Carly!” you say, “No prepackaged, store-bought bagel could possibly even begin to recreate the deliciousness and variety of CTB’s bagel selection!” You’re right. But fortunately, tomorrow is your lucky day!
On the second Tuesday of every month, CTB holds a sale on their bagels: $6 for a dozen! All day long, you’ll see people walking up and down College Ave carrying bulging brown paper bags full of deliciousness. Mark it down on your calendars right now! If you don’t need 12 bagels, split a dozen with a friend or roommate. Have one that morning for breakfast, and then immediately put the rest in the freezer.
And throughout the month, you’ll have bagels you can defrost, toast, and declare CTB-perfect—all for the price of one breakfast sandwich!
