5 Pumpkin Seed Recipes to Spice Up This Classic Halloween Snack

 

Looking for a way to roast your pumpkin seeds after a night of carving? Well look no further I’ve got a list of some incredibly yummy ways to spice up those seeds just in time for Halloween!

 

  1. Cinnamon Maple–

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups fresh dried pumpkin seeds

  • ¼ C butter melted (4 Tbsp)

  • 4 TBSP pure maple syrup

  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground ginger

  • ⅛ tsp ground nutmeg

  • ⅛ tsp ground cloves

  • Pinch of salt

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees.

  2. Put the dried seeds in a bowl and pour the melted butter and the maple syrup over the seeds. Stir until coated well.

  3. In a separate small bowl mix all the spices together. Dump the spices over the seeds and mix well.

  4. Spread the seeds onto parchment lined baking sheets and sprinkle lightly with salt. Put in 275 degree oven for 30-45 mins or until golden brown, stirring every 15-20 mins. After the seeds have cooled, break up with hands.

  5. Enjoy!

 

2) Zesty Ranch–

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. butter, melted

  • 1 ½ tbsp. Ranch Seasoning

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees

  2. Spread seeds on a parchment paper lined baking sheet

  3. Bake seeds for 25 minutes

  4. Toss seeds in melted butter and ranch seasoning mix

  5. Bake for an additional 10 minutes

  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving

  7. Enjoy!

 

3) Spicy BBQ–

 

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard

  • 1/4 teaspoon light brown sugar

  • 4 to 5 squirts olive oil spray

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees

  2. Spread the seeds on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and roast for about 10 minutes or until seeds are dry, tossing halfway through.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the onion powder, garlic powder, mustard, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt and brown sugar.

  4. Place the seeds in a medium bowl and lightly spray with oil.

  5. Add 3/4 of the spice mixture and toss to coat evenly.

  6. Spread the seeds on a sheet pan covered with parchment and roast for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. When seeds are done roasting spray more olive oil over the seeds and toss with the remaining spice mixture

  8. Let cool and Enjoy!

 

4) Taco-Lime–

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. Butter

  • 2 c. pumpkin seeds

  • 1 tsp. fresh cilantro

  • 1 tbsp. Taco Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp. lime juice

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 275°

  2. Toss the seeds in melted butter to coat them

  3. Then toss seeds in cilantro and taco seasoning until coated

  4. Spread them in an even layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then cook for 20 minutes.

  5. When done drizzle lime juice over seeds

  6. Let cool and Enjoy!

 

5) Pumpkin Pie–

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. Butter

  • 2 c. pumpkin seeds

  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°

  2. Toss pumpkin seeds with butter, brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice

  3. Mix until evenly coated

  4. spread them evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown

  6. Let cool and Enjoy!
