It’s that time of year again: Valentine’s Day. While this holiday can often be a sore subject for people not currently in relationships, I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, I’m going to propose a challenge to all my fellow single people out there: use this Valentine’s Day as a way to take a break from all your worries and, in the wise words of “Parks and Recreation” characters Donna and Tom, treat yo’ self!
I’ve even taken the liberty to list a few ideas to inspire you!
- Buy yourself Valentine’s Day chocolate.
-
Who says you can’t buy chocolate for yourself? Indulge yourself this Valentine’s Day by buying your favorite brand of chocolate. Bonus points if it’s packaged in one of those adorable heart-shaped chocolate boxes!
- Challenge yourself by making your own chocolate-covered strawberries.
-
While you could always go out and buy premade chocolate-covered strawberries, it might be fun to challenge yourself and make your own! Here is a helpful recipe I recommend checking out.
- Make it a spa night.
-
Use Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to pamper yourself! Light some candles, draw a bath (maybe even add a bath bomb if you’re feeling extra fancy). You can even give yourself a homemade facial!
- Give yourself a Valentine’s Day-inspired manicure.
-
You don’t have to be an expert nail artist to give yourself a Valentine’s Day-inspired manicure–trust me, there are plenty of relatively easy nail tutorials out there!
- Have a movie night.
-
Grab some popcorn (perhaps even some of your freshly made chocolate strawberries?) and make it a movie night. Personally, I always love binging old, sappy romantic movies on Valentine’s Day!
Don’t let not having a date stop you from treating yourself this Valentine’s Day! Especially with all the stress of virtual classes, you deserve to have a night dedicated to yourself!
