It’s not only the catchy name everyone is excited about. The Pulse is the beat of campus. It pumps through the school’s veins. Last Saturday, The Pulse came out on top in the CU Student Government elections, setting a record for the most voters in the fall elections and startling the campus with more than 6,000 votes.
The Pulse won with a platform promising a more inclusive, community-friendly, environmental, tolerant and safe campus. Once in office, The Pulse will work toward a safe environment on both campus and the Hill, reduce student fees and support student groups. The Pulse also believes that student government should be accountable, transparent and responsible in all its actions—good standards considering they implement and oversee a $37 million budget.
CU Representative At Large on The Pulse ticket, Martha Obermiller, said “The Pulse team is excited to really bring a voice to all students and work to bring all groups together to try and create a genuine community here at CU.” Here’s to a new student government!
