To say that finals week is killing me would be an understatement, and I don’t think it’s out of pocket to say that most of you are probably feeling the same way. Personally, the only thing keeping me going is thinking about all the things I’ll be able to do once finals week is over. So here are four things to think about doing after finals week.
- Learn a new skill.
-
Learning a skill that has nothing to do with your major. This is summer break, school can wait until next semester. Rediscover your passion for learning by engaging in something that genuinely interests you and only serves to feed your curiosity.
- Read all those books you never have time for.
-
Think of all those books you’d rather be reading than those textbooks you’ve had your nose shoved into for the last couple of weeks. This is your time to read them, and read them for fun – you don’t have to worry about writing an analysis (unless that’s something you want to do).
- Take a hike.
-
Boulder is one of the most beautiful places to live in – take advantage of it! Get outside. You’ve survived one of the most difficult semesters any of us will ever go through; you deserve to take a breath of fresh air.
- Take some time to yourself.
-
It’s over, you did it. It’s now time to focus on yourself – not on your grades and not on study guides. This is the time to focus on you. Have some fun, and have a great summer!
All in all, this finals week has been rough, and thinking about everything you’re going to be able to do after it’s all done might just be the thing that gets you through it. These are just some suggestions, but I hope that they inspire you to realize the potential this summer break has. Good luck on all of your finals and don’t forget to have fun this summer!
