From cheerleading for her CU Buffs to representing Alpha Phi on her executive board to interning through the marketing department for CU Athletics, Giulia Silva â18 does it all. We got the scoop on how she does it all while always keeping a beautiful smile and an aesthetically pleasing instagram account.
Why did you choose to come CU Boulder?
I grew up in a college town, Fort Collins, and kind of wanted to get away but still stay relatively close. I was really interested by the cheer program and the beautiful flatirons.Â
If you were walking around campus, what is one thing you would want people to know about you that they wouldnât at first?
I canât think of just one thing! Iâm an accounting and finance major with a spanish minor and I love pizza. I am a huge fan of Justin Bieber and classic rock. Iâm also just a really happy person. See, itâs hard to think of just one!
Â
If youâre not studying accounting and finance where can we find you?
You can probably practicing for cheer or at work for my internship doing community outreach with marketing for CU Athletics. I have an executive position in Alpha Phi where I am able to use what I do in cheerleading to motivate my sisters to be great in the panhellenic community. If Iâm not busy with those activities, you can find me playing pick-up soccer or skiing on the weekends with my roommates who I love to pick on.
Â
With such a busy schedule, what keeps you motivated?
I have a checklist and I really enjoy checking things off of my check list when I do it. I enjoy everything I do so itâs not like I feel burdened or really need motivation to do these things that I love. I am excited about everything that I do, so motivation isnât an issue!
Â
Whatâs your favorite part about being a cheerleader?
My favorite part about being a cheerleader is definitely performing and being able to get everyone really excited about their school. Itâs really rewarding because we get to compete and show off our skills at cheer competitions too! The girls on the team are some of my close friends, so being able to do all of that with them at my side is awesome.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I see myself as a Chief Financial Officer somewhere in Colorado so that I can still ski on the weekends. You could say I am an aspiring business woman.
Â
Whatâs one of your most embarrassing moments?
Thatâs a tough one. There was a time in my spanish class where I was struggling so hard to read the words. I thought they were spanish words I had never seen before. I typically do well in Spanish so it was weird I was struggling so hard. I was using my accent and everything and I literally thought I was speaking spanish, but it turns out it was actually english I was reading. So embarrassing!Â
What is your Starbucks order?
Thatâs hard, it depends on my mood. I usually just do a medium roast. I love my coffee!Â
