After the pandemic, I vowed that I would never study in my room again if I could help it. For me, my room is very, very distracting. Luckily, the CU Boulder campus has many great study spots. Here are some of my favorites.Â
- Norlin Library: The Laughing GoatÂ
I love getting a hot mocha and a bagel with cream cheese before finding a spot on Norlin’s first floor. The background noise of a coffee shop and the environment of a library is the perfect combination of noises and smells.Â
- The CASE Building
One of CU Boulder’s newer buildings, the CASE building’s open layout provides many spots for students to sit and study. Personally, I love this building’s windows and the natural light that they let in.
- The Engineering CenterÂ
The modernness of the facilities is what draws me to the Engineering Center. That, and it makes me feel smart and science-y. Due to CU Boulder’s high engineering student population, finding a table can be hard, however if you find a spot, this is a great place to study.Â
- The UMCÂ
The University Memorial Center is a great place to grab a bite or some coffee before you hunker down at one of their tables. They also have a great fifth floor library and terrace you can study at (when it’s not cold, of course).Â
- Stearns East, Floor 13
It took me an embarrassing amount of time to learn about the thirteenth floor library of my own dorm, however, it has now become one of my favorite (and most convenient) places to study. When I need to study but don’t want to leave my dorm building, I just grab a snack and head up to the quiet and cozy library.Â
As the semester progresses, I keep finding new places to hunker down with my drink and laptop. Whether it be studying for a midterm, or just doing homework, CU Boulder has an incredible campus with study spots for everyone.Â
