Types of Tea to Drink to Heal Your Body and Soul

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

Come fall time, everyone wants to cozy up with a hot beverage, preferably in a comfy oversized sweater. Herbal teas also tote many health benefits, and with Celestial Seasonings being located here in Boulder, there’s no better place to take advantage of each tea’s unique health benefits.

Matcha Green Tea

Matcha is being added to EVERYTHING these days, including lattes and candy. But, did you know this trendy food item also contains health benefits? It has been known to help lower blood sugar, cholesterol and contains tons of antioxidants (more than any other tea on this list).

Chamomile Tea

This tea is great for bed time, as it helps you wind down from the day and promotes relaxation. It can also help calm period cramps, reduce inflammation and treat cold symptoms.

Peppermint Tea

This tea is great for any kind of tension in the body, including headaches and cramps. Peppermint is also known for its digestive aiding propertiesĀ and can help relieve indigestion. It can also give you a boost of energy and freshen your breath.

Raspberry Leaf Tea

In addition to being one of my personal favorites on this list, Raspberry Leaf Tea is a great source of antioxidants and can be especially beneficial for women, for everything from easing PMS symptoms and providing needed iron, to helping pregnant women by possibly reducing childbirth complications.

Fennel Tea

Fennel is an ancient seed that people have been using for centuries to promote health, as it aids in digestion, boosts metabolism, regulates appetiteĀ and reduces stress.

I hope these teas find you well this fall season and relieve some stress from midterms. Have a great week!
