With Spring Break come and gone, comes the excitement of another year almost over and the anticipation of summer. However, if you’re like me, you’re looking at more of a question mark than an exclamation mark. I recently realized that I have about five weeks left to be a care-free college student. Five weeks left of sleeping in til noon, going out on weekdays, wearing sweats everyday and five precious weeks of being able to drink profusely without being judged. Suddenly, my entire college career flashed before my eyes and I began to think about all the magical things I never did. So, with some time still left on the clock, I decided to make a check list of some things every graduating senior should do before they take that unavoidable walk into the uncertain future.
- Compete in an intramural game, preferably something laughable like inner tube water polo
- Make a move on that hottie you’ve been eyeing since freshman year
- Go to at least three bars you’ve never been to, just to get the experience
- Shout something you’ve always wanted to shout or start a chant in a lecture hall. A friend of mine has a dream to get an entire class to chant “Stoop kid’s afraid to leave his stoop!”
- Go to a frat party one last time…to remind yourself why you stopped going
- Tell that amazing teacher(s) you had how much you appreciate them. Whether they passed you when they shouldn’t have, or if they completely changed the way you think, they deserve the praise.
- If you haven’t already, visit some of the oldest buildings on your campus
- Attend that club meeting or event you’ve always wanted to but never had time
- Get a group of friends together for a senior prank
- People watch for 10 minutes at your favorite place on campus and soak it all in
