With every changing season, there is always something to look forward to. The advent of fall usually brings thoughts of pumpkin spice lattes, changing leaves, and Halloween movie classics. In an effort to remind ourselves of the fun fall changes approaching, the HerCampus CUA Team gathered together to celebrate all of our fall favorites.

We began with our Editor-in-Chief, Kat Kaderabek, who expressed that her favorite fall memory was the crisp fall air in the mornings, especially when waiting for the bus in high school. She reminisced about the refreshing air and distinct earthy smell that always reminds her of her younger childhood days when going to school was the most exciting thing for her. Nowadays, she always pauses to take a moment when the sunset sifts through the changing leaves outside her classroom buildings. The colors change so quickly, but vibrantly, and they are what she most looks forward to during fall.

Vice President Maria Duffy cannot get enough of fall sweaters. As soon as the weather drops below 65 degrees, she shifts into winter mode. Sweaters are warm and calming, similar to her favorite fall drink, apple cider. She must drink it warm, as she swears it’s the best. The sweetest apple cider always comes from apple orchards, which is her favorite place to be in the fall. The ambiance and smell of the fresh orchard air is the perfect place for her and her friends to pick apples to make special treats with later.

Molly Mullin, our Social Media Coordinator, is more than happy to join Maria, as long as there are also pumpkins at the orchard. She lives for anything pumpkin spice, especially a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks or a nicely warmed pumpkin pie, and pumpkin picking is her favorite fall activity. Like Maria, Molly also prefers long sweaters during the Fall, specifically cardigans. Perhaps it is because they are so comfy, or perhaps because they also remind her of her favorite song “Cardigan” by her all-time favorite artist, Taylor Swift.

Treasurer, Sara Furtak, is more of a flannel-girl. She loves the outdoors, especially playing with all the fall leaves, whether it’s stomping on them, raking them, or tossing them around with her brother. When she’s feeling in the fall mood, Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well” makes her feel ready to handle the hardships fall can bring.

Julia Pandolfi, our Secretary, can always get down to some Earth, Wind, and Fire, specifically their hit song “September.” She likes to groove and have fun, which is why you will probably find her singing in the pumpkin patch or cheering her brother on at his football games, two activities which she says make her love the fall. She also adores butternut squash soup but it’s even better when it comes in a bread bowl. Her perfect day would be rounded off by wearing her signature Chelsea Boots somewhere full of brightly colored trees and overflowing with apple cider.

Freshman Representative, Cecilia Johnson, is also a big fan of apple cider, but an even bigger fan of chai tea lattes. Her perfect fall day would actually be at night, surrounded by friends and family and enjoying a bonfire. Marshmallows would be involved, along with chunky sweaters, which is her favorite fall fashion trend. To end the perfect night, Cecilia would love to snack on apple fritters while her favorite fall song, “Unforgettable” by Thomas Rhett plays in the background.

HerCampus Editor, Shaniya Mann’s, best fall memory is helping her grandmother at fall festivals she attends. She says she single-handedly pays Starbucks bills when the famous “Pumpkin Cream Coldbrew” comes back! Her favorite fall fashion trend is sweaters that are too big and fall themed nail colors! A fall food she can’t get enough of is pumpkin butter! Her grandmother actually sells this at their festivals too; she loves to put it on her toast and ice cream. Her perfect fall day would be attending her little brother’s football games with friends and family.

If there is anything to be said, it’s that HerCampus CUA is surely embracing the fall activities to their fullest potential. With our fall favorites on our mind, we’ll be sure to prioritize those activities in the future.Â
