One of the best things about college is meeting new people and forming new relationships. It is common when getting to know someone that you go out somewhere, but dinner and movie tickets are not always within reach especially if you’re a student ballin on a budget. This doesn’t mean you can’t have a fun time though. Here are some creative wallet-friendly date ideas I especially loved.
Visit a Thrift Store
Who doesn’t love thrifting? There are many things you and your person could do together. You could challenge one another to find something that reminds you of the other person, or blindfold one person and have them create an outfit. Thrift stores are also a great place to find a cheap movie!
Cook Dinner Together at Home
Eating in doesn’t have to be boring. You and your person can go to the store together and decide what you want to cook, then play some music and have fun while making a delicious meal!
Arts and Crafts!
The dollar store is a wonderful place to find cheap arts and crafts supplies. You could make it a fun paint night by setting a timer for sixty seconds, and then handing the canvas off to the next person. The possibilities are endless!
Make a Scrapbook Together
This falls under arts and crafts, but this is a more long term project. Most supplies can be found at a dollar store, and it is a really fun way to track memories that you make together which will last a lifetime!
Go on a Scenic Walk/Drive
It is really easy to find local hikes or view points near campuses, not all of which you may need transportation for. This could be a fun date that can go as long or as short as you want (and it’s free!)Â
Being on a budget can be really stressful especially when it’s hard to be social without breaking the bank. Spending time with someone does not mean you have to spend money!
