Book
Postcard Killers
Â
I know I know, James Patterson is an obvious choice and many may not be big fans of his. James Patterson’s books are just something you see on your mom’s nightstand. But this book is also co-written by Liza Marklund. It is a great murder-mystery that is a true page-turner. Detective Kanon is in Europe to find his daughter and her boyfriend’s murderer. They were killed in Rome and since then there have been more couples being murdered. One thing that the murderer consistently does is send a postcard to the newspaper before each murder. Kanon and reporter Dessie Larsson work together to find the person who keeps playing these games and killing innocent people. Â
Shows
Broadchurch
Broadchurch takes us along the case of Danny Latimer. Danny is an 11-year-old boy who was found dead in his hometown of Dorset. Detective Hardy and Miller are leading the case to find out more and more about the mysterious death. This is the kind of show where you will innocently start watching it and then 14 hours will go by and you’re still lying on the couch with an empty family-size bag of chips.
American Vandal
Everyone knows the show “Making a Murderer” which catapulted the era of crime docu-series on Netflix. American Vandal takes on that theme and turns it on its head, it is a classic whodunit but satirical show, playing on the crime docu-series trope. The show revolves around Dylan Maxwell who is expelled from his high school for spray painting obscenities on teacher’s cars. Sam and Peter are two students who take on the case and try to find out if Dylan is innocent, or if it was someone else.Â
