Spooky Season Is Quickly Approaching and We’re All for It

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CWU chapter.

It’s hard to believe how fast time is moving, but now October is just around the corner! It feels like yesterday that I recently moved back to school to start my senior year, but reality has shown me that I’ve actually survived three weeks of classes already. Online school, among other things, has definitely impacted my vision of time and my personal schedule, but to better serve the purpose of this festive article, I want to begin by saying that there is so much to look forward to this fall. Although there might be some slight adjustments to how everyone normally celebrates the month of October, it will remain as a time to relax and reflect. Here are some cozy and warm ways our girls at Her Campus are spending this upcoming season!

The Season of Self-Care

Autumn is the perfect time for all students to settle in and find ways to destress. If you find yourself needing a break from schoolwork, take a scenic walk to explore nature. A change of surroundings will help you feel relaxed, just like watching your old favorite Halloween movies. Spending chilly days at home is also comforting because you can stay in your pajamas all day long and catch up on sleep. If you are feeling adventurous, maybe it’s time to curl up with a new book or a new seasonal espresso drink. Yes, I am referring to every drink made with pumpkin spice.

Reflecting & Making New Goals

I don’t know how to fully explain this, but for some reason, I think Fall is one of the best seasons for introspection. This time of the year can come with personal reflection and can make you think about the goals you want to achieve. As individuals, we continue to evolve and change just like how the seasons come and go. Embrace the small steps that lead you to find your purpose and focus on your personal growth.

Celebrating Spooky Season

Starting next week, I will be decorating my room, and nobody can judge me for it since it will officially be October. I love decorating for every season because I’m quite festive and I know I’m not alone. As a club, we are all planning on celebrating the spooky season by doing pumpkin carving! I think I’m also going to find or create a cute costume so my cousin and I can be twins on Halloween! Dressing up with close friends can be super fun and creative. Like all holidays, Halloween only comes around once a year, so you better make this one count!

Hopefully, some of these festive suggestions for Fall add to your excitement for the season! Remember to wear your mask and practice social distancing if you find yourself around populated areas this Halloween!
