December 31, 2021, was a sad day for the world. Our biggest fear had come to light. Our dear beloved Hollywood grandmother had left our world to be with the rest of the Golden Girls. While it is a day we will all pain to remember, she didn’t leave this world untouched. Betty White’s many achievements and aspirations in life will remain timeless.
Rose Nylund
The Golden Girls is an 80’s classic American Sitcom that surrounded four women living together in one home in Miami. Betty White played the beloved Rose was most times very naive, but also the most kind-hearted. She is one of those women who could ramble on about the darndest things and receive side-eye glances from her roommates. Betty White portrayed the role of Rose Nylund for eight years and 208 episodes.
Crowning
Betty White has not only been praised on social media and in the press for her performances but also at awards ceremonies. White has been nominated for 21 Primetime Emmy Awards and out of those, won five. She was also nominated for one Grammy Award and won that.
paws of love
While Betty White’s time as an actress kept her schedule busy, she always made time for her true love, animals. Both her parents were also animal lovers and as a child, she would care for the many pets that her parents would take in. Her love for these animals did not limit to cats and dogs, she also loved learning about exotic animals and often visited zoos around the world.
Betty was as wholesome in real life as she appeared on the screen because she personally supported and donated to many animal-based charities throughout her life from not only money but also her time as a volunteer.
Paws for betty
There is a current challenge circling the social media atmosphere as a nod to Betty and I am personally challenging you. On January 17th, her 100th birthday, I challenge you to either donate your time or some of your household change to your local animal shelter or conservation. Let’s keep her legacy alive and continue with her passion for animals.
We all appreciate the many things Betty has brought into our homes and our life. Her actions and her small will never disappear from our minds.
As Rose would say “Helgenbargenflergenflurfennerfen…”
