Fashion month has come and gone with a stomp of Balenciaga Triple S trainers and a swish of YSL Envelope bags. And now it’s time for bloggers like me to choose and pick the best looks from this year’s Autumn/Fall Paris Fashion Week.

Christian Dior

The artistic director of Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri cited feminist heroes, Teddy Girls, as her inspiration for this season look. Chiuri’s dedication to female empowerment was certainly echoed in the show as models walked down the runway wearing edgy pantsuits, sharply cut leather jackets, wool midi skirts with feminist slogan tees and tartan in every shape and form. However, the most talked about piece of this show was the Stephen Jones designed bucket hats that will have you begging for one of your own. Dior’s A/F collection is perfect for women who love to push the boundaries of feminism and enjoy incorporating traditionally men’s clothing into their wardrobe.

Off-White

Virgil Abloh’s brand, Off-White is synonymous with athleisure and designer streetwear yet this seasons show was a take in a different direction. With a check board catwalk as his background, models took to the runway in an assortment of minimal and maximalist outfits. Models carried large oversized chequered bags as they sauntered out in silk pant suits, shorts over trousers paired with chequered shirts and brightly coloured oversized coats. The pièce de resistance was certainly his closing outfit, with Bella Hadid walking out in a flowing yellow chequered shirt and short co-ord.

Olivier Theysken

Dark, sexy and edgy are the best words to describe Olivier Theysken’s A/F collection. Black was the predominant colour with splashes of nude, red and pink to vary the colour palette. Theysken offered us structured skirt suits in silk, leather and wool, bodice pantsuits, lace midi dresses, suit jackets worn over silk dresses, high-necked Victorian ball gowns and black lace dresses worn with thigh high leather boots. The entire collection was like a scene from a Tim Burton movie, invoking an odd combination of romanticism and eerie dread.

Elie Saab

He’s done it again, Elie Saab’s 2019 A/F collection was once again a celebration of the female siluette. The runway was full of colourful pieces as models sashayed down the runway in sophisticated modern cocktail dresses. Saab’s collection was a also blast to the past, with models wearing velvet pantsuits, sequined dresses, oversized feather bomber jackets and intricately embellished dresses. Particular detail was also paid to necklines and sleeves as outfits included elaborate neck ties and puffed sleeves made of bright patterns and flamboyant feathers.
