Over half of the fall semester has officially passed. There are only 1.5 months left! I can’t believe that my last fall semester at UD is so close to being over. The #UDGrad2017 feels are real right now.
One goal that I set for myself freshman year was to find a job before graduation. It is still something that I am working on, but I know there are a lot of us in the same boat. Luckily there are many tools we can use such as UD’s Handshake to apply for job opportunities. Handshake allows you to submit your resume, transcript, and cover letter. Once you apply through Handshake, some companies make you fill out a job application on their own website, so they can keep track of their applicants. Make sure you are qualified for the position and fill everything out to the best of your ability in the application.
If a company believes you are qualified for their position, you will be offered an interview. ValuePenguin came up with some useful tips for preparing for an interview, including: research the company, practice questions and answers, plan your day, etc. Keep your options open and maybe you will get multiple offers!
Looking for a job is super stressful, but with an open mindset and a driven attitude, you will be able to find a job before graduation! Good luck to everyone trying to find a job or internship!
