Ask anyone that knows me and they’ll tell you that working out is not in my vocabulary. But between all the Chick-Fil-A that I’ve been eating this semester, and my Apple Watch screaming at me all day to get out of bed, I figured that it was probably time to get my life together. After just one cycle class this week, I’m already obsessed with it and somehow am actually getting excited about working out.
I took a 45 minute cycle class at OhSo Cycle right in Newark. My excuse to not go was that it was at 9:00 in the morning, but I have to say it honestly felt amazing to be up and productive that early. The class was Taylor Swift themed, which of course was the main reason why I even signed up for the class to begin with. The instructor was one of my favorite people in the entire world, my friend Michelle. This might make me completely biased with how much I loved the class, but regardless of knowing her personally or not, Michelle will hype you up as if she’s known you for years.
Between being incredibly out of shape, having no experience with spin, and being anxious about working out with a mask on, I was genuinely nervous. Although it’s just a minor thing, I’m not the biggest proponent of stepping out of my own comfort zone. Once I got to OhSo, everyone was so incredibly nice and helpful that my nerves immediately went away.
With Taylor songs blasting and strobe lights going off every time the tempo picked up, I was having so much fun that it didn’t even feel like the chore that exercising usually feels like to me. All in all, I’m basically obsessed already and you’ll definitely find me signing up for many more classes in the future. I recommend doing the same to anyone reading this, it’s an insanely fun and rewarding experience that you won’t regret.
