Winter, with its cold air and misty mornings, blossoms in such a whimsical way that it makes people fall in love with the season. The magic of it flows in the air, with the breeze blowing away, culminating in showers of cold waves. It is that season of the year when we wrap ourselves in cozy blankets, crave some delicious hot chocolate and coffee, and get in the celebratory mode of the delightful festivals of our traditions.Â
Living in Delhi, I canât stop desiring for the onset of winter. The season, in the blink of an eye, immerses the city into an unexpectedly chilly weather. It knocks on the door after months of sweltering summers, making the lifestyle of its people turn into a different zone of refreshment and tranquility. November to January brings in the delight of cool, breezy, and cozy winter vibes. People get out of their houses and explore the beautiful city in hoodies, cardigans, jackets, and boots. Delhi offers numerous attractive destinations worth visiting in winter. To make things easier for you, here is a list of my favorite places to relish the chilly weather of the city!Â

The temperature drop adds a crispness to the air, creating a pleasant atmosphere for visitors. Families, friends, and tourists gather to enjoy the magnificence of the monument and feel the warmth of the street vendors selling hot snacks, adding to the touristsâ delight. The weather enhances the significance of this landmark, creating a cozy yet vibrant setting for reflection and appreciation of Indiaâs rich history.Â

Lodhi Gardens is one of the perfect places to visit in Delhi to bask in the warmth of sunlight, defying the gloomy and chilly scenes of the winter mornings. In most cases, one can observe families and fitness enthusiasts gathering for strolls, yoga, or exercise sessions. The mesmerizing historical site gives off a serene view- the ducks going about their business by the fountain and the chirping of birds that enriches the surroundings. It is a place worth spending the day at, filled with picturesque spots.Â

It is a delight to have such a wonderful place in Delhi, making the city extra special!

Visiting Qutab at night is a captivating experience as the entire structure is illuminated through its light show, creating a surreal experience. The contrast between the chilly nights and warm hues of the stones adds a unique charm to the visit, making it an ideal season to appreciate the cultural and architectural significance of Qutab Minar.

One of the most spectacular and largest Hindu places of worship in the world, Swaminarayan Akshardham temple offers the beauty of a gigantic and divine landscape that is simply unparalleled! It stands on the shores of the Yamuna River. Loads of visitors mark their presence at the holy site, immersing themselves in the ethereal spirit of the divine temple. It has beautiful lush gardens. The beauty of the temple is amplified by musical fountains that start in the evening, an IMAX theatre, a grand research center, and an artificial lake that surrounds the temple. The divine structure of the temple and the presence of unreal beauty around it give a blend of holiness and scenic magnificence.Â

All of these places offer a great glimpse into the diversity, aura, and history India is representative of. Visiting these places indeed adds more meaning to the hustle and bustle way of city life in Delhi, especially amid the spine-chilling winters! Every experience with each one of these provided me with new perspectives, something that I could attain only through visiting it in person.
