DO YOU REALLY KNOW “YOURSELF”?—30 Questions Everyone Should Ask Themselves

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Delhi North chapter.

We often know a lot about everyone in our surroundings. Who is dating the most popular girl in college, when did the neighbours adopt a cat, who is the teacher’s favourite student… we know it all! But well, how much do we actually know about ourselves? Amidst our hectic daily schedules, do we honestly ruminate enough about ourselves? Our needs, our wisdom, our likes, and dislikes? Or do we just skip that part?

Self-awareness is of utmost importance in today’s busy world. It is the ability to know ourselves better and emotionally accept ourselves for who we are. Be it positive traits or negative ones, be it thoughts or beliefs, feelings, inspirations, all find a place in self-awareness. Self-awareness is basically a willingness to fully understand one’s own personality.

Here are 30 important questions everyone should ask themselves to understand oneself better:

Q1. What do I respect about myself?

Q2. What motivates me and can help me regain motivation after I lose it?

Q3. What is my definition of success?

Q4. How do I manage negative thoughts and feelings?

Q5. How would I describe myself honestly?

Q6. Is there something in my life that I am taking for granted?

Q7. What kind of behaviour do I dislike in other people?

Q8. How do I want others to see me?

Q9. What is the most important thing in my life?

Q28. Do I care more about how my life looks or how it feels?

Q29. Am I holding on to something I need to let go of?

Q30. Will any of the above matter in the next 10 years?

These 30 questions will help one contemplate about themselves in a way they might not before. They will open the windows to their hidden mind and reveal the secrets stored deep underneath!
