With the leaves finally changing on the trees and temperatures dropping from the high eighties it seems that fall has finally arrived in the Midwest. But for how long? This notoriously short season just seems to be getting shorter and shorter. So don’t blink and miss it! There are so many fun things to get out and do in the fall. Here are a few of my favorites.
Haunted Houses
My favorite part about these terror tests? Laughing at the crazy reactions of my friends. They only pop up once a year so if you are into getting some premature gray hairs from fright check out your local haunted house for a few hours of freaky fun.
Pumpkin Carving
Grab some friends, grab some pumpkins and enjoy a few hours letting your creative juices flow. Conventional fun says you will end up with a few scary or sweet looking pumpkins, if you are with me and my friends, you’ll end up with sides splitting from laughing too hard and pumpkin guts in some questionable places. J Your decision on which one is more fun!
Watching Football
So I’m not a huge sports fan but there is something so uniquely fall about hanging with my family and friends watching college football. Of course it might just be the cup of hot apple cider and a bowl full of peanuts and candy corn that makes it so much fun.
Cider Mills
This is my number one activity to do once the leaves start changing! You can’t go wrong throwing on your favorite flannel, some knee high boots and grabbing a date to enjoy the cider mill with you. My local mill is always crawling with people, drawn the sweet smells of homemade donuts and fresh pressed cider. Take a break on a wagon ride between apple picking, baked good browsing, and selfie taking! It is a season must!
