Columbus, Ohio is my home. I was born there and raised in different parts of it. I’ve experienced loss and love, and everything in between there. It’s the ever-growing city, getting larger by the day. But throughout my life, I’ve found little nooks and crannies that I enjoy going to, getting away from the chaos that comes with every city.
One of my favorite spots to go to is the Scioto Mile. Sure, there are some drawbacks, since it’s downtown, but when you’re with someone late at night, listening to the trees and swinging on the metal benches hanging near the river, it’s peaceful. Of course, since this is such a nice feature of Downtown, Columbus, lots of people go there and hang out.
Another place that I really enjoy going to is the Franklin Park Conservatory. This might seem like an overrated thing to Columbus residents, but I really enjoy it. There are so many aspects that make it great, and it was recently renovated to make it even cooler. There are rooms filled with cacti, butterflies, and an exhibit that is filled with rainforest plants. It’s a great experience each time you go, and I would highly recommend taking a trip there if you are in Columbus and haven’t already.
And don’t even get me started on the metro parks that are scattered all throughout Columbus. These are some of the best places to get away from the bustle of the city, and study, read, or write. They’re clean, and monitored, and have great trails to explore with your friends and family!
