When on the precipice of a week-long Thanksgiving break, it is an impossibility to avoid daydreaming. While I have thought lots about the near future, sleeping in my bed at home and hugging my puppy, I have expanded my dreams. My creative juices started flowing, my visions ran rampant. Whilst in that process, I created a list of things I would like to achieve in adulthood. Might not be as close as Thanksgiving break, but these goals will happen someday. If you dream it, you will achieve it… or something like that.Â
Firstly, I would like to have a movie pass. Every time I go to an AMC theater, I imagine myself wearing a turtleneck and going to see a film with my middle-aged friends. I have always loved movies, so it only seems natural that I might grab a movie pass upon a salary that goes above babysitting money.Â
Secondly, I would like to own season tickets to a sports team. This might reach a little far beyond nannying change, but I think I can do it. I honestly don’t really care which team, I just really love sports culture. I grew up cheering for Chicago teams like it was my religion, so clinching some season tickets has always been a personal dream.Â
Thirdly, I would like to timeshare a boat. I kind of get seasick, and I have absolutely no idea how to navigate a boat, but the idea of owning a boat (even partially) is incredibly exciting. I would like to sit on my deck and eat water crackers while drinking Voss water. Everyone is invited.Â
Fourthly, I would like to go to the Kentucky Derby. The hats are fantastic, and I think adult women tend to be the stars of the show at this event, so I would love to be a part of that. Something kind of bothers me about horse racing, but I watched the Secretariat movie and that was really inspiring so I would like to attend nonetheless.Â
Fifthly, I would like to fly a kite. I could probably do this without being an adult, but I have made it to adulthood and thus far I have never flown a kite, so I think it is appropriate that it makes the list.Â
Finally, I would like to visit wherever they were during Season 16 of Survivor. It was truly beautiful. Frankly, I think if all of these goals are achieved, my life will be complete.Â
