We have all had times when we feel overwhelmed or stressed out, because of work, studies, or other things. 2020 was a rollercoaster ride and I am not going to lie, I found myself to be stressed more because of the pandemic. However, I was able to overcome my stress and to relax and focus on good things that are happening around me, here are some tips I found helpful: :
Â
1. Write a journal
Journal writing helped me clear up my mind and write out everything that is bothering me. This made me relaxed and I was able to focus more on my work and studies.
Â
2. Meditate
There are so many meditation techniques that help you relieve stress and enable you to relax. All you have to do is sit peacefully (maybe in a yoga posture) and allow your mind to be free. Also, do some breathing exercise as they are useful in relieving your inner self
3. Take a day off and be yourself
Giving yourself time is very important. Have a bar of chocolate, watch a movie or just sleep.
4. Go out for a drive
I did this a lot of times in 2020 whenever I felt stressed out. Since a lot of places were closed and you can only go out for a walk or drive, this is one thing that has helped me to relax.Â
Even in 2021, going out on a drive feels refreshing to me. I sometimes buy coffee, listen to music and just enjoy myself while I drive. Specifically, if it was summer, I would stop my car by the lakeside and enjoy nature.Â

All these things have been a great help. You don’t have to be productive all the time and it is okay to step back. So, go out and relax and focus on your self-care.
